Selected and edited by John Davies and Paul Harris. Covers a broad selection of 19th century study repertoire, with studies by Baermann, Berr, Demnitz and many others. Book One contains studies 1-50, with 51-80 in book two.
This is not what it says on the book ! This is book 1 and has 50 studies not 80. Having said that, this is a decent selection with some pleasantly tuneful pieces and well graded from elementary to intermediate level. KIP |

This is an excellent book for the beginner to be able to progress in an ordered manner. Far to many students tend to ignore study books and scales in order to play tunes they like. By using this book, and others such as scales and arpeggios they will be placing the groundwork for further more complicated studies, thereby reaching a higher standard of proficiency, and of course pleasure in playing their instrument. Excellent range of exercises for developing all playing skills. They make good warm up pieces when you have improved and can be used for sight reading practice. Anon. |
